What the hell? Who are the SIX people who said "everyone"????

I voted no one, but then I thought that it would be okay if the animal died of natural causes, BUT THEN I realized that we already know what the insides of basically every animal looks like so there is really no need or excuse for it, especially, like Krissy said, when there are alternatives-like doing it via computer.

Why is this post called "vivisection"? Dissection and vivisection are two very different things.

This year, my class is going to dissect in biology. Ugh. I'm going to try to make it known that these kids can opt to do an alternative project, though. They have the right by law in this state.

I'm so glad I never had to deal with my school having dissections.
But anyway, here is a site from peta that you might find helpful. You select your school level and it has helpful information.

This page tells you what kind of laws each US state has on letting students opt out of dissection:

No one should dissect animals.... It is sick to think people actually feel that animals are ours to do whatever we please.

Vivisection means to cut alive... A perfect example of what humans are capable of in the name of progress (read greed, brutality, arrogance, disrespect for life). Got to stop writing now, gettin really fucked up.

I got a "1" in every Biology project at hischool that involved vivisection or dissection (my class dissected fishes, little pigs and the head of a cow). We were asked to buy the "material" at the butchery.
Of course, I didn't do it.
The vivisection involved a hamster and a frog... I didn't do that stuff either.

I'm not against dissection of animals who suffered a natural death... not at all.I know they can't give their permission, but I'm not against the dissection of dead humans either.
(such things are useful for many things, specially for doctors and vets... i.e, if one day there's 10,000 dead fishes lying dead on a beach, then I hope someone will dissect them "without their permission" as to find the cause of these deaths and how to fix the problem... such thing is actually more useful than leaving them out there without even wondering what could have happened).
